About Us
Progressive Women of Greater Hartford is a grassroots activist women's group in the Greater Hartford, CT area.
We meet regularly to have conversations about progressive values and issues. We support and encourage each other as we discuss what is important to us---including values such as justice, respect, kindness, gratitude, and patriotism.

We also take action and make our voices heard, either by working together or by joining other established groups. Important issues for us to work on are saving democracy and voting rights, reproductive rights, and addressing climate change. We work to elect legislators who share our progressive values.

The work we do is informed by our acknowledgment of structural racism. As we advocate for changes, we consider the impact those changes may have on marginal groups. We also explore how racism is embedded in our systems, how it impacts our lives, and how we can advocate for change. We try to work as allies for people of color in issues like affordable housing, criminal justice reform, and health care.
We welcome marginalized genders, including women, trans women, women-identifying individuals, and non-binary and gender non-conforming people who are comfortable in a space that centers around the experiences of women.
